Our story
Every challenge presents an opportunity.
At 54, I found myself starting over. Not just changing jobs or making a few adjustments. Starting over.
Trucking wasn't some lifelong ambition. At the time, it looked like the only road I had left—and I'll tell you, it wasn't one I was particularly excited about taking.
But something happened along the way. Mile after mile, decision after decision, I began rebuilding. My work. My finances. My life. My family. It didn't happen overnight, and there wasn't a shortcut hiding around the next bend. There were hard choices, hard lessons, and more than a few days when the road ahead looked longer than the road behind.
I learned something in that process that I believe with everything I've got:
Every challenge presents an opportunity.
That doesn't mean the challenge isn't real. It doesn't mean you can wish the bills away or talk a bad business into becoming a good one. It means that when you face a difficult situation, you still have a responsibility to look for the choices available to you.
That's why Miles To Go exists, and why we publish The Driver's Brief.
We're surrounded by headlines. Freight is up. Freight is down. Rates are climbing. Carriers are closing. Everybody has an opinion about what it means. But the question that matters to the person making the truck payment is simpler: What does any of this mean for my business?
Here, we do the work. We start with evidence, separate facts from assumptions, and examine opportunities without pretending the risks don't exist. Every business story comes back to three measures: your production, your cash flow, and your true net profit.
You can run a lot of miles and still go backward. You can move a lot of money and never build anything that lasts. That's why I keep asking: Are you moving the needle, or just moving money?
I'm not here to recruit you to a carrier or sell you a miracle. I want us to think like business owners. To ask better questions. To see the threats early and recognize a legitimate opportunity when the numbers support it.
I'm still on the road. I'm still working. I'm still teaching. And I'm still learning. What I can offer is the perspective I've earned and a commitment to take our business decisions seriously.
There is always an opportunity if you're willing to look for it. The important part is knowing how to recognize one worth taking. We've got miles to go.

Our foundation
Honesty and integrity come first in everything we do.
Real numbers, good weeks and bad. Nothing claimed that isn't true, nothing shown that isn't real, nothing promised we can't deliver.
From the founder
"Integrity, honesty and above all valuable. If we slice open DriveTIS, those three words ooze out of it."
In everything we produce, we focus on three numbers: helping you be more productive, put more cash in your bank, and keep more of what you produce.
Harry Osteen, Founder
Our mission
We show drivers how to run their trucking like a business, using real numbers, real goals and real results, so they can earn more, keep more, and build the life they're driving for.
